Future Flashback on GGRF

How time flies! During July 19 to 21, happened the Geek & Game Rio Festival, the GGRF. The Games From Rio booth on the event included the Rio Indie Gamedev Group, known as RING. Being a game developer from Rio,  Future Flashback was  submitted for RING and the game was selected! This was our first big event presenting Future Flashback.

During the three days we were on the event, we learnt there is interest for point and click games on the Brazilian market! And after being asked a lot, we found we need to have the game in Portuguese on launch too.

After watching many people playing, we found some improvements we could do to the game interface – and we applied them! Now it’s more intuitive to play! It was fun too talking afterwards and learning that players had followed our game story. Our characters have very short names and we felt it very rewarding to learn how well this worked with players!

We noticed people really enjoyed the music but players using headphones were prevented from playing cooperatively! Next time we will bring a pair of headphones, since most players were in pairs and dismissed the headphone to talk about the puzzles!

During the event we too had the great opportunity to be around experienced developers, and listen and learn through their sharing. And also play their games, because it’s something really fun! Some great multiplayer games were there! We also met lots of students who were curious about the process of making a game.

Our game also appeared in two news article, which was awesome!
